Our Mission

Our goal is to help botanical gardens and arboretums organize their collections in an online environment. We help them organize their volunteers, give them access to a collaborative plant database, and give their visitors an interactive tour companion on their smart phones, such as an iPhone or Blackberry. By supporting the educational mission of gardens, we hope to help inspire the next generation of gardening enthusiasts.

Landscapedia is providing this service free to gardens and their visitors. We are also making this service ad-free, so their visitors don't have to deal wtih advertisements.

Our Garden Partners

We get to work with some great partners in helping them create digital records for their facilities. In the 2010 season, we are working with over 10 partners (and that list seems to be growing weekly). We are helping them organize their teams, create digital inventories and creating online accession records to track collections.

To answer the biggest question -- Yes, it's free! There are a whole host of reasons why we do this, but mainly, we just want to support local public gardens that are doing great work educating the next generation of gardeners.

Our Volunteers

To make this happen, we must rely on the strength of our community. We ask our members to volunteer a little time to add and edit plants to help get these great gardens on a great service.

To start volunteering, check out a list of participating gardens below or Start Here

To help a garden not currently participating, please Contact Us to get the garden listed.
